Roommate Fair
Neighborhood Services and Collaboration holds Roommate Fairs each semester to provide students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to meet potential roommates face-to-face in a safe, informal setting. Roommate Fairs are typically held on Friday afternoons in the Ohio Union. You are required to present your student ID upon entrance to the event.
Roommate Fairs are held for a 1-hour period, in order to allow everyone to meet each other and exchange contact information. We suggest that attendees create a flyer to hand out to potential roommates at the fair, including contact information, information on what type of rental property you live in (or want to live in) and any specific traits you are seeking in a roommate. During the Roommate Fair, each attendee will be wearing a color coded name tag (based on whether you already have established housing or need housing). Ice breakers are also offered if staff feel that attendees are not mingling on their own (which is rarely the case). This meet and greet is a great way to meet a number of potential roommates in a short period of time.
We also sugges that all students seeking a roommate utilize the NSC roommate search. This is another avenue in which to advertise what you are seeking in a roommate.
The next Roommate Fairs will be held on Friday, July 12th, and Friday, August 9th, from 5pm-6pm in 1000 Ohio Union. Don't forget your student ID!!
