Creating the Extraordinary Student Experience: Office of Student Life

Off-Campus Community

Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement welcomes you to the University District!

Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement (OCCSE) helps off-campus students build stronger community in their neighborhood and get the resources they need.  OSSCE goes beyond providing rental listings and information to provide events and resources to help you to get to know your neighborhood community and use the many resources Student Life and the City of Columbus has you! From getting to you know your neighbors, to crime prevention; holiday lights competitions to party smart information... Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement is your OSU off-campus community partner.

The Community Ambassadors (CAs) are students who work to develop community in the University District neighborhoods. The program a central part of Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement.

Community Ambassadors act as a resource and a point of contact for students living on their street. As a group, the CAs plan activities throughout the year for the greater campus community ranging from their Street Cookouts, neighborhood newsletters, Buckeye Block Watch program,  Light up the Night  (an annual off-campus holiday lights competition), and annual Tosstober Fest Cornhole Tournament.
